I tried to Apply Toothpaste on my Glans to Remove Pearly Penile Papules

There are plenty of home remedies that try to remove PPP such as applying toothpaste, castor oil or tea tree oil. Using toothpaste to get rid of PPP is the most popular one. The treatment consists of using toothpaste to dehydrate and clean papules, hoping for them to fall off. I have personally tried it before finding a true solution to remove PPP. This article describes the experience and results.

How to Apply Toothpaste on the Glans

You only need to take a small amount of toothpaste, about the size of a green pea. First, apply it on your finger and then spread it on your papules. Do not apply the toothpaste on the whole glans, only on the pearly papules area. Leave it there for a while before rinsing it with water.

Is it painful?

Applying toothpaste on the glans is generally not painful, but you will feel a cold sensation on your glans, especially if wind/air is blown on the area. Of course, all toothpaste brands are different; some might even give a little burning sensation. But keep in mind that toothpaste are made to apply on the mouth, which has sensitive skin similar to the glans, so it should not be harmful if applied on the glans. However, unlike the mouth, there is no saliva secretion on the glans, making the toothpaste solution a potential hazard for dehydrating the skin. At worst, you can quickly rinse it with water.

Does it work?

Pearly Penile Papules are in fact a chunk of fibrosis. Those chunks take space; therefore, white bumps appear on the penis, which creates the papules. Using toothpaste on glans does NOT remove pearly penile papules. It will only dry the area, but drying it will not dissolve the fibrosis. If it did, you should be more worried about what else it dissolves with it! Also, the antimicrobial properties of toothpaste do not affect pearly penile papules as they are not bacteria.
